White Wine Garlic Shrimp & Asparagus
What you need:
1lb Raw shrimp
juice of 2 lemons
1/2 cup White Wine (any dry wine with lower alcohol content , like Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc) The specific wine that I used is Duchman Vermentino, (photo below) purchased at Kroger I originally bought to try this grape I hadn't had before.
2 tbps. minced garlic
1.5 tbsp. butter
Asparagus
1 tsp. garlic powder
olive oil
salt & pepper
Start,
cut the woody ends of asparagus and throw away, then cut in half. Turn heat to medium on stove and drizzle olive oil on a pan. Add asparagus to pan. drizzle a little olive oil on top and season with garlic powder, & a couple pinches of salt & pepper. Cook for about 3 minutes, but don't let them get too soft. Once done, put aside in container or dish to serve.
Using the same pan, add butter, wine, lemon juice and minced garlic. Let simmer for about a minute. You want to cook the wine down a little before adding the shrimp. Add shrimp(peeled) to pan and season with a couple pinches of salt & pepper. Cook until shrimp are pink (about 4-5 min.).
Pour over asparagus & Serve!!
