SOUNDBITES presented by CocaCola Food Truck Festival

The soundbites food truck festival was everything I thought it would be and more! The festival ended the Houston Black Restaurant Week this past weekend with a great choice of food trucks and food vendors. It was held at Peggy Park in Third Ward, which was a great, central place to bring the black community together for a day full of good food, music and fun. It also featured the Greater Houston Black Chamber Marketplace that consisted of small black owned businesses in the Houston area.

Some of the familiar food trucks and vendors that were present included Bahama Buck's, Cool Runnings Jamaican Grill, Boogie's Chicago style BBQ, Gumbo Xpress, Stuff'd Wings, and more! There were also free lemonade samples of Hubert's Lemonade. The lines were long, but worth the wait. There wasn't a meal or sample at this event that I did not enjoy. The food truck was such a success, by the time I left, most of the trucks and vendors had ran out of most of their items! It was exciting to see the black community, and the diversity of the crowd, supporting the black owned small businesses, and I think it is important to make Houston more aware of them.

But back to the food, hope you enjoy the pictures and go try & buy BLACK!
