My Top 5 Happy Hour Spots
If you know me, you know I love food, and drinks! So why not enjoy them at a great price? I also love a place that has a great patio area to sit outside on nice days, but if there is good food, I almost don't care where I am sitting.
I have tried so many different restaurants, and if you live in Houston, you know there is always something new to discover. This is a list of the top five restaurants that I go to the most, because of the happy hour menu. I think they're pretty awesome, and if you have any other great places in mind, let me know and I'll go try them out!
Peli Peli
Located in the Galleria, Peli Peli is an interesting and very flavorful South African infusion. One of my friends introduced me to this place and I would go everyday if I can! The atmosphere is perfect for a date or for a cocktail on the patio with friends. The happy hour used to be everyday from 11a-7p (who wouldn't love that?!), but the hours and prices have recently changed.
Mon-Fri. 2p-7p,
They offer $7- $10 menu options and half priced drinks. Still worth it. Some of my favorite items are the Biltong Mac & cheese bites, the South African wings, and the chicken skewer sosaties. As far as drinks and cocktails, I haven't had drink there that I didn't like. It is absolutely amazing to me!
Barcenas Mexican Restaurant
If you're looking for something authentic and affordable, this is the place to be. They have authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes. Anything from quesadillas to homemade tamales, and more can be ordered here. The best part is the happy hour of course!
Mon-Thurs 11a-8p,
Fri. 11a-9p
Sat. 11a-7p .99cent margaritas!
Its a great place for large or small parties for some good Mexican food. But be careful, the margs are a pretty nice size for only .99 cent and they will creep up on you fast.
The Fish

It's located in Midtown and has a kind of sophisticated set up. My friends and I like to dress up and come here, either for the turn up, or before the turn up, especially because we can walk to other places instead of drinking and driving. I love the area and almost moved right by this restaurant, but its a good thing I didn't because I would probably go broke. Their happy hour is
Mon-Wed 5p-7p
follow up with Reverse happy hour
Thurs. 8p-12am,
Fri. & Sat. 10p-12am,
Sun. 3p-10p
They offer Nigiri, rolls, ceviche, truffle fries, wings and more. Drink specials vary from sake, to wells, and house wine. Perfect for a date, girls night out, or even to try their famous Kobe burger to scarf down with a Kirin for some 'me time'.
Bar Boheme

Bar Boheme gives the off the vibes of its name. If you like to try something different, this is the place. You can enjoy the ambiance of their backyard patio, and their amazing drinks. I recommend the frozen mojito. It's light and refreshing, and on the happy hour menu for only $7. They have a small menu, and the pizzas are a little different but definitely worth a try! you also have to try the Vietnamese fries; they're sooo good and great to share! Happy hour menu offers $5 bites and wines, $4 beers, and $7 cocktails.
Tues-Fri 4-8pm
All day Sun & Mon.
Brooklyn Athletic Club

This is a new spot for me that I recently started going to, but I love everything about it. It's laid back and you can watch the game or play games in their outdoor area, and enjoy complimentary valet. The mac & cheese on the happy hour menu is rich and hearty with the pulled pork. You can also order $2 tacos on tuesday along with many other cheap eats and drinks ranging from beer to wells during happy hour.
